If you are using the amp for the sub only, it needs to be a mono amp or a 2-channel amp that you can bridge to one channel, which means that you're essentially feeding power from two channels into one. As for your question about the vented box, it's a matter of preference, but in my opinion, a single 10-inch sub in a sealed box is plenty for the Z. I have a 10" Infinity Kappa Perfect (several years old) in mine, powered by a Pioneer amp that pushes 150W RMS (if my memory serves correctly), and it sounds great. Sounds like you're on your way to a nice setup; you just want to make sure it's all installed right. It might be worth spending a little more cash (maybe $80-$100) to take all the gear you've collected to a stereo shop and have it professionally installed.
