There was a video floating around the internet not too long ago which showed someone from Mazda saying that the RX-8 surveys had a negative impact on the Mazda dealership scores. As a result, they decided to continue the surveys for RX-8 owners, but the results will not be counted. This pissed off a lot of RX-8 owners because this means that Mazda dealers don't have an incentive to provide RX-8 owners with good customer service since the surveys will not affect them in any way. The RX-8's questionable reliability makes this an even bigger problem. Squeaky brakes, engine flooding, and engine failure were some of the problems they mentioned. Mazda really needs to step up its game if they want to continue building rotary engines. If the reliability issues continue they will never gain peoples trust again. Everyone questioned the RX-8's reliability when it first came out. But many thought that since it will not be FI then it will be more reliable. Now Mazda seems pretty serious about bringing back the RX-7 somewhere between 2010-2012 and they are experimenting with FI too. I really hope they get this one right.
