Message brewskis one evening. :) The development of the electronics in it goes all the way back to November of last year and it has been improved and revised through time since then.

This component, from an electrical engineer's viewpoint, is a very simple circuit - it is simply a motor speed controller, which could have been constructed in an almost infinite number of arrangements. Anyone with even basic electronic knowledge could build one - the only difference there is that I'm the one who actually took the time to do it.

This circuit has been tested in more ways than you may imagine. :) It actually began as a fuel pump controller for a jet engine project I built starting the end of last year. The core components of the controller have worked very reliably and without fault - these components being both the pulse-width modulation circuit and the power MOSFET drivers. That same circuit was then expanded to handle the control logic used in the Z32 to adapt it for use in the car, of which said components perform without flaw.

FWIW:
This is the gas turbine (jet engine) engine control system - the GT Control board being a component I developed for the application. Palm Tungsten PDA w/bluetooth, bluetooth->serial adapter, serial DAQ, GT Control board. Developed/wrote the application for the PDA to run the engine fly-by-wire with fail-safe engine protection, and more..

The jet engine I built from scratch:

And the scooter it all ended up on:

This setup uses a Z32 fuel pump too. :)

Building a fuel pump control module for the Z32, which is nothing more than a speed controller for an electric motor, is..., shall I say, childsplay in comparison...

And if you are interested, here it is in action:
