| The Nismo shifters do have the threads that start at the bottom and run up through the length of the knob so it sits low on the shaft. It does not add any height. I have the brushed aluminum Nismo knob that I use for DD use because it sits easier in the hand and is more precise feeling due to the lack of any padding. However, it does get very hot in direct sunlight for an extended period of time. Here's mine:
