Seems to be quite a lot of question surrounding whether or not this actually works, I'm assuming that's because of different materials being used for automobile body paneling. Don't quote me as a definitive source, but it seems to work on steel and is not as effective (if at all) on aluminum, as you stated. I did a little googling (by no means extensive) and this guy seems to think that it will not work on aluminum, skip down to the section titled, "Dry Ice - Urban Myth." That said, however, if someone has actually tried this method on a Z, I would be interested to know the results. I've got a very small one in my hood that is nagging me.
