| I'm somewhat in the same boat you were in. Trying to take the cylinder head off my honda...but I have a bigger problem than you did. I have tried almost everything and I don't know what else to do. I have removed the starter and jammed a screw driver in the flywheel teeth to stop the crank from turning. I've used a 1/2 extension with a 1/2 ratchet with a 7 feet pipe over the ratchet to try and break the bolt loose and had no sucess. Tried a 215 ft/lbs electric impact gun and had no sucess. Tried a 600 ft/lbs Craftsman air impact gun and had no sucess. Tried a 1000 ft/lbs IR air impact gun I let it soak with PB blaster over night and did the previously mentioned and no success. Heated the bolt up with a torch and still had no sucess. Anyways I ordered the honda tool that keeps the crank from turning from a website online and I am waiting for it to arrive. I picked up a 19mm impact socket and bought a 1/2 impact extensions. I am going to use the honda tool with a breaker bar and wedge it against the ground than use another breaker bar on the impact extension with a 8 feet hollow pipe over the breaker bar. I am going to put constant torque on the bolt and give a little more each minute until the bastard breaks loose. Or atleast something breaks. This way I won't have to worry about anything else that is important breaking...such as a screw driver on the flywheel tooth.
R.I.P March 23, 2006I have nightmares about that happening...I'd be the poor bastard you'd hear about on the news that gets killed by a softball-size chunk while spreading out my body over the hood and screaming "Nooo!"
