Message ~3476lbs Dry Weight

Alrighty, well I finally got the chance to go get my car weighed. It was a heavier than I thought with my calculations, but still not bad for a widebody 300zx with 19" wheels, comfy seats, AC, a huge stereo system with box, and a 60lb roll cage! I guess I did forget to add in the weight of the full box of dynamat I added, and I probably missed some of the body work weight.

Anyways, on the weighing thingy, it kept fluctuating between 3540 and 3560 over and over again, so the guy said it was probably right at 3550lbs, but it only reads in 20lbs at a time. Although that isn't super light, that's still not too bad at 3550lbs with T-tops on, 9 gallons of gas I just put in, and back to the stock heavy flywheel.

Now to figure out the dry weight, I believe that gas is about 6lbs a gallon, so with the 9 gallons that I just put in the car that comes to ~54lbs of gasoline. Then, also subtract the weight difference of when I go back to a lighter flywheel here soon (RPS this time) which is about a 20lb difference? and I'm looking at 74 lbs lighter than what it is now.

That comes to roughly ~3476lbs dry weight with t-tops on, which is only 2 lbs heavier than stock, and something like ~3456lbs dry weight without t-tops on. Not bad, considering all the stuff on it, plus I'm sure there are a couple other things I can remove that won't be noticed to reach my goal of keeping my car at the stock weight. That is unless dry weight actually means no oil, tranny fluid, gasoline, ect, then I may already be there. Anyways, just wanted to give the update.

Also, hopefully soon I will be able to weigh the rear seperate from the front so I can see if I have reached a 50/50 weight ratio from front to back. I would assume I am close, but who knows till I get on a machine. I had this done earlier when my car was corner balanced, but sadly I did not keep any of the papers on it nor do I remember the weights in the front and rear at that time.

Thanks for reading.

Thanks,
Mike
