Message excited. I was excited to be starting my summer, excited to be home, to see my friends, and of course my car. I climbed into the Z almost immediately to take a little joy ride, and immediately, I noticed a problem.

I got onto the parkway going about 60 and noticed that I had low oil pressure. Very low oil pressure. I pulled off at the next gas station to check my oil level. It was fine. This problem had just occurred. I had my dad driving the car for me when I was gone, and he said the oil pressure never dropped below 60.

Here are a couple of pics. I know that they’re unnecessary, but still:

Idle (at start, the oil pressure would go up to 90, then drop)

3,000 RPM (I noticed that if I got the engine speed up, the oil pressure would raise, but then drop eventually)

Normal driving

Back in the driveway

I’ve checked the car, oil level, connections, etc. and everything seems fine. After doing a little reading, I’m guessing that my problem is with the oil pressure sending unit. Does this seem right? What else should I look at before I buy the $90 part.
