FYI, here's a photo of the engine bay of a TTZ: 
Tight quarters in there, but not impossible if you have the desire to do the work. I don't know anything about the 3000GT, but, if taken care of, a Z32 can be very reliable. Of course you have to expect that not everything will be perfect - it's a 10-16 year old car. But if you're the least bit mechanically inclined, this site and the people here will help you take care of the things that need attention.
