1) Old school Sears 3? ton. Pros: Cheap, $40ish? Never let me down, except when I turn the handle. I've had it 10 years or so. Cons: Heavy, cast iron, tank. Won't go quite low enough for the front of the Z, so I have to drive the Z onto jack stands to use. Pain in the ass to toss into the back of the truck and lug around. Need to pump it like a million times to bring the lifting pad to get to anything.2) Small 1 ton, cheapie from Kragen. Pros: Light, weighs all of 10 pounds. Cheap, like $20. Bought it originally to use as a jack in my daily driver, but I bought a stock Al Z jack for that purpose. Fits under all cars. Cute little plastic handle. Cons: Weak. To lower the jack, need to remove handle and place on release valve, can't just give it a quick turn. Max height is all of like a whole foot. 3)Aluminun 2? ton 'Racing' from Harbor Freight tools. Pros: Light, quick pumping action. Easy to toss over the truck rail. It's pretty, mine is Aztec Red. Cons: Pricey, compare to clunky floor jacks. $100 or so. Lifespan? For home use, get a cheap 3ish ton, cast iron tank. For hauling around, get Al. For carrying in the trunk of your car, go cheap and small.
