I've seen it done that way before (not sure about the subframe part). but the longer the shoulder straps, the more likely they are to stretch. i think the general rule of thumb, is to have the shortest length of harnesses possible all around. so long as your mounts are backed up with backing plates, i doubt there'd be much of a problem.
