Message so that you maintain the 3-speed control capability as well as have the capacity to flow enough fuel than you are going to put to the ground anyway. You still have the ability to adjust the fuel pressure with this setup just the same, and it wont require an additional, larger return line to be installed. The idea is to control the pump speed so that:

A) You dont run the pump at full speed all the time, which will mean a longer life

B) You wont have to worry about regulator or return line overrun.

c) You wont have to install any additional lines to make the setup work well and provide ample fuel for 1000+HP.

I agree with you that you can get a lot of performance from the stock setup, but it will eventually reach a point where it is no longer sufficient to handle the power demands. And if the fuel pump is old and weak, you are spelling potential disaster if it goes unnoticed. While the stock fuel system can deliver a good bit of fuel, taxing the system to its fullest duty is not a good idea - you need some degree of headroom to safely work within.

Unfortunately, 8-second Z32s dont exist at the moment, and when they do, they will be very few and far between. The more realistic approach to developing components is to build something that a large number of people will benefit from and be able deliver a system that will work reliably and for the duration even under extreme conditions. Overbuilding specific systems that are critical to the longevity of the engine is analogous to having insurance - it isn't always necessary but when things get bad, it is always great to have.

Fueling issues are still the #1 problem I see with high-performance Z32s and my efforts are directed towards trying to eliminate the possibility that you might be one with a potentially expensive problem on your hands..
