Message I learned this by watching Trucks on Spike... go figure.

Anyway, they were building the Rubicon Jeep, modeling it after the one in the new Tombraider movie. They'd set it up with seats so that he COULD put in 4-5 point harnesses if he wanted to... but they stated to make sure NOT to just bolt them to the seat's back bolts... you want them further back... and they make a "harness bar" specifically for the Wranglers for this purpose. Basically, if you flip over and end up upside down, having the belt right behind the seat will cause for a force acting direction down to the floor, or right in the direction of your spine, COMPRESSING YOUR SPINE, and causing back problems... possibly causing more injury to you than if you'd not been wearing the belt to begin with. They said to make sure if you use the belt to have it attached as FAR behind the seat as possible, to give a rearward force, so in otherwards the belt looks like an upside down L when attached, compared to a upside down V. The L will hold you in place, the V will compress your spine in the process.
