Unique Features 1) This car is known as a “slicktop” which means that it has no t-tops. The result is a lighter-weight car with a stiffer chassis and much cleaner look. 2) This is, as identified by the badge inside the car, #171 of the last 300 Nissan Z’s to be shipped out of Japan in 1996. They continued to make the 300ZX for the Japanese market until 1999 but none made their way to the States or were built with left-hand drive. 3) It has low miles. 57,000 miles on a car that is nearly 10 years old is quite remarkable. It has had all its maintenance done and the 60k service was performed last year at 54,000.Accident History It has been involved in two wrecks since I owned the car. The first wreck was a small, 20mph collision that was promptly fixed. Most damage was on the front passenger side corner and a well-qualified shop repaired everything. The second incident was the result of a deer leaping out in front of me while traveling at about 30mph. Here again, all damage was done to the front passenger side of the car and a few scratches were made on the roof. The same shop did all repairs and as you can see from the pictures, all lines of the car match up perfectly as well as the paint. I have receipts from both accidents. It has a clean title and NO frame damage. Maintenance History 1) 60K Service (done last year) 2) New Nissan Clutch (done this year) 3) Wagner Thermo-Quiet Brake Pads (done last year) 4) NGK Platinum Spark Plugs (done with 60K) 5) New Shifter Bushings (done last year. These wear down on all manual cars and result in a “wobbly” shifter, even when it’s engaged in gear) 6) Energy Suspension Front Sway bar bushings (not installed, will ship with car) 7) Enegery Suspension Steering Rack Bushings (installed last year) The Big Mistery When I performed the 60k service, I failed to put the CAS on properly which snapped off the stud on the end of the camshaft and lead to months of frustration as to what was causing my miss at 3k rpm. As a testament to my taking meticulous care of this car, I went ahead and replaced the camshaft at Nissan (not necessary, the car would have ran without it) and have receipts of all work as well as warranty coverage. The car drives perfectly now. Modifications 1) Bridgestone Potenza RE750 245/45W tires. 2) KYB AGX Adjustable Shocks 3) JWT POP Charger 4) Energy Suspension sway bar bushings 5) Sylvannia Silverstar bulbs. 6) Alpine CDA-9827 Head Unit 7) Brembo Cross-Drilled Rotors 8) 15% Limo Black Window Tint with a 6” front brow 9) Unorthodox Racing Underdrive Pulley 10) 300 Degree Master Brake Cylinder Brace 11) Nismo Clear Corner Turn Signals 12) Chrome Intake Piping (not installed) As you can see, this is an exceptionally well-taken care of car that has many fun miles left in it. I hate to sell it but college is taking its toll on my wallet and sometimes, good things must come to an end. $15,500. Arrangements can be made as far as shipping/meeting halfway are concerned, my schedule is flexible as it is Christmas break. PICS -James p.s. car will go up on ebay soon to ensure safe and honest bidding. Until then, make me an offer. My asking price is loosely based on the prices found on Autotrader.
