The tranny has 97k miles on it (out of a 1993) and would shift good in all gears. However, there was an intermittent ‘crunch’ in 1st gear, but I could control whether it would crunch or not, so I tend to think it was more of a clutch adjustment problem. What would happen is if I were at a complete stop with the stick shift in neutral and the clutch pedal up, then push the clutch in and put it in first gear as fast as I possibly could, it would crunch. However, if I were to push the clutch pedal in and wait for about half a second to a second (or anything beyond that) it would slide right into 1st gear smooth as butter. Other than that as far as shifting goes it shifted wonderfully. It does need a new reverse switch (~$18 from conceptzperformance.com) and new tranny fluid because I drained it prior to taking it out. I personally would only recommend Redline MT-90.
