Message	The 4" bose speakers in the 91+ hatch area can be replaced with 4" aftermarket speakers, but why spend money on a 4" when you can fit a 6 1/2"? Although the 90 boxes have 6 1/2" openings, the port built into the bose enclosure was designed to work with the crappy bose system and will not be ideal for an aftermarket system. Sealed/infinite baffle designs work best. These bolt-on adapter plates will replace the top section of the bose enclosures and will provide a rigid baffle to mount a 6 1/2" speaker of your choice. The adapter plates use the same OEM screws in the bose enclosure. For a perfect fit, each screw hole is counter-sunk from the underside to fit the raised screw locations on the bose lid as seen in the second picture. The OEM gasket is also used to seal the adapter plate onto the enclosure. The adapter plates are constructed of painted 1/2" MDF routed to fit perfectly. The driver's side plate has an additional 1/2" speaker mounting ring attatched to allow for more magnet clearance, as the driver's side box is smaller than the passenger side.
