[ www.polarengineering.co ] Z32 ignition coils and PTU are inherently problematic areas. Countless forum threads and how-to guides are dedicated to troubleshooting, diagnosing and repairing ignition system components. Since these parts are on an expensive side, many Z owners have to live with misfire and starting problems. Furthermore, a good number of builds are now based around a single turbo setups with single throttle body manifold, or an aftermarket upper plenum that does not have mounting points for factory ignition coils or simply would not clear them. Polar Engineering developed an ignition coil mounting plate kit that is designed to be a simple and complete solution to issues mentioned above. We have developed mounting plates to fit between VG30DE/TT valve covers and match their contour. Mounting plates are CAD designed and laser cut to have OEM-like fit and finish. We chose to offer this kit in two options: for mounting Nissan GTR R35 ignition coils or the Audi R8 counterparts. While we strongly recommend the Nissan R35 coils for their performance, 3-wire connectors and ease of setup, R8 ignition coils can also be used with our mounting plates for those who are looking a bit of a budget solution. With either kit option, the factory PTU is completely eliminated/bypassed and with it all your issues associated with that problematic part. We offer an optional bypass harness if you would like a plug and play solution for eliminating your PTU. Otherwise, it is just a matter of connection and soldering 6 wires in your EFI harness. Nissan R35 ignition coils have 3-wire connectors just like most other Nissan models. We offer optional R35 pigtails that you would be able to solder in place of your factory Z32 ignition coil connectors. You will need to make minor adjustments in your ECU ignition settings. Audi R8 ignition coils have 4-wire connectors. They will require you to run an additional lead. You will need to make minor adjustments in your ECU ignition settings. Since R8 coil mounting kit requires less mounting hardware, it is priced $10 lower, accordingly. Included in basic kit: -Polar Engineering ignition coil mounting plates. CAD designed and laser cut. A kit includes one driver and one passenger side mounting plates. You will have a choice of R35 ignition coil kit or the R8 ignition coil kit. R35 ignition coil kit has application specific coil boot holes and also small threaded holes for ignition coil mounting bolt. R8 ignition coil kit has application specific mounting hole which coils pop into. Either kit will come powder coated black by default at no additional cost. Red, Blue or other custom colors can be done for extra $30. Powder coating is done professionally at a dedicated business. Of course either kit can be ordered in bare, as finished aluminum at a $10 reduction in price. -Brand new offset spacers and all mounting hardware to make this a complete bolt-in solution to your R35/R8 ignition coil conversion. We use flanged domed hex head mounting bolts for secure and flush attachment. We only use high corrosion resistant hardware. Hardware is offered in two options: black or stainless steel. R35 kit also include aluminum spacers to help bolt down the coil to mounting plate. -Please note that ignition coils, ignition coil boots, PTU bypass or pigtail connectors are NOT included with the basic kit. We understand that our customers may want to source those parts themselves new or used and have a choice of brand. If you are looking for a COMPLETE kit, with ignition coils, ignition coil boots, PTU bypass and pigtail connectors included, please contact us and we will gladly put a custom kit together tailored to your specific request. We have unbeatable rates on genuine Nissan or Audi OEM parts as well as top quality aftermarket replacements. -FREE GROUND SHIPPING in USA. We will gladly ship internationally.
