My husband recently drove my beloved Z-car through some high water during a heavy rain storm (approx. 1 month ago. Although the water wasn't very high at all (did not even come up to the bottom of the rim)- apparently it doesn't take much as water was sucked up into the air intake & the car stalled immediately. My car has been lowered (Eibach springs) & I also installed a pop charger several years ago. I've since learned that both of these components actually made the car more susceptible to hydro-lock.

Despite our best efforts- we have (sadly) been unable to get the motor to spin. The engine is hydro-locked & will almost certainly need to either be re-built or replaced.

Prior to this event, my Z had been a daily driver and had no other mechanical issues.

I purchased my Z in 1999, and it had 25k miles on it at that time. It currently has approx. 182k. I have been meticulous about strictly following the recommended maintenance schedule and have always run full-synthetic oil and premium fuel.

Given that the car is 20 yrs. old, the interior is in very good condition - definitely better than average. The steering wheel does need to be re-wrapped, but no other major defects.

Regarding the exterior, it has been a daily-driver & has had plenty of exposure to the HOT Louisiana sun for the past 20 years. Thus, it is certainly time for a re-spray. In addition to the normal wear/tear minor cosmetic flaws that you would expect to find on any 20 yr. old daily-driver, there is also a small dent just above the rear bumper on the rear driver's side.

It pains me greatly to have to let my Z go, but now that I have 2 little girls- it's just not practical to keep it. Ideally, I would LOVE to see it go to someone who intends to restore it & put it back on the road.
