Selling my old Ostrich emulator I used for tuning my Z. Unit worked fine but I upgraded to a different unit. Simply plugs into any socketed ecu inplace of the eprom. Then connects to your laptop. There are various programs you can use out there with it. I used Tuner Pro. There is a free version that works fine or you can purchase the full copy. 
I also suggest getting a socket booster if you want to do real time changes while the car is running/driving. Otherwise after each change the car must be shut down and restarted. I used it this way for years. Here is the booster:
