EP Racing Internal Coating Services are geared to add performance and protection to the vital engine components. These coatings enable the engine to run with less friction, better lubrication, better combustion, and exhaust flow attributes. One other big improvement is heat retention to keep down engine bay temps.

EP Racing Bearing Coating Services

This form of coating is a dry film lubricant that once applied is baked for 1 hour to chemically bond itself to the substrate.
This dry film lubricant with stands 350,000 psi of pressure. The more abuse (load) that is put on the coating the better its lubricating ability becomes. The coating after it has been applied and set requires NO extra clearances (oil clearances) when going to assembly. The coating wears to a 0 clearance which makes assembly easy. Dark gray in appearance, the coatings color wears off but leaving the physical properties embedded into the sub straight making this coating unlike many others.

- High pressure lubricant.
- Reduces friction, galling and scuffing. Increases part life.
- Requires no clearance changes to compensate for the coating.
- Apply to any part subject to sliding or rotating friction.
- Excellent for use on bearings.
- Water based

There are two options to choose from in this service.

Bearing coating service is $75. This covers both mains and rod bearings. An entire set is coated for this price. You must send me your bearings of choice as this price is only for the coating service.

I also have bearings on the shelf (Clevite & Federal Mogul) that are already coated (full sets) for $200 a set (main/rods). These are the only bearings I use in the engine builds I do. This is a great alternative for those that aren't sure on what bearings to buy or need a set of coated bearings at a moments notice.

Prices are set including shipping!!!

Bearing Service - $75
Coated Bearings Set - $175

EP Racing Thermal Dispersant Coating Services

Avid race teams and racers alike look for the advantage in keeping their engines running cleaner and cooler all the time. One of the methods of cooling parts on the engine and reducing engine temps is to apply a thermal dispersant to critical parts. By doing this you...

* Rapidly disperses heat away from a coated component.
* More evenly distributes heat over a coated surface.
* Aids in cooling heat sensitive parts.

Overall enabling the engine to run cooler is what we are all after and in doing so increases efficiency.

Thermal dispersant coating specs:

* Excellent for intake manifolds, brake components, oilpans, turbocharger compressor housings, intercoolers, piping, throttle bodies, etc etc.
* Very good chemical and corrosion resistance.
* Black in color.

EP Racing Coated Crankshaft Service

There are two primary reasons for coating a crankshaft:

- Coatings provide increased lubrication to the journals
- Coatings aid in shedding oil from the counter weights. Depending on the intended use there will be a different coating applied due to oil shed capability and thermal properties the coating aids in.

The crankshaft rod journals are coated a ceramic dry film lubricant which cures to a thinner film than most other dry film lubricants. Once the coating has been applied and cured, a burnishing process is conducted. This does two things, removes high peaks in the spraying process and polishes the coating film to ensure the even layer is smooth and ready for assembly. Coating the journals with this dry film coating you will increase lubrication, reduce friction and add a protective layer to the crankshaft. The rotational action of a crankshaft coupled with the pressure fed oiling system, aids in keeping a film of oil in place under pressure. However, when pressures exceed what the oil can carry, the oil will flow away from the point of contact, this is where the coating steps in. The dry film lubricant used can lubricate in pressures exceeding 350,000psi, which is well beyond what you would ever see in use. Another important function of the dry film lubricant is that it is oil retaining and helps keep oil in place.

No additional machining or clearance is needed as this coating burnishes down to a zero clearance factor. I suggest though that you always check your oil clearances for documented purposes as well as to know what your engines clearance is at with any build being conducted.

Coating the counter weights will be done with a thermal dispersant coating which also has an exceptional oil shedding capability to it. Depending on the intended use of the engine a different thermal coating will be used that will be best suited for the work the engine will be doing/seeing.

Overall, this service increases the lubrication level inside the engine and reduces friction. A win/win situation for any avid racer/race team.

***NOTE*** - Customer MUST clean the crankshaft upon receiving. Foreign debris that may lodge itself inside the crankshaft during shipping which will need to be cleaned thoroughly prior to going to assembly. DO NOT polish this crankshaft...EVER!!! That is ever needed from this day forward is to clean the crankshaft well before assembly. As always measure your journals when building and inspecting to ensure the crank is within specifications.

EP Racing Exhaust Manifold Coating Service

We all know that retaining heat in the manifold leading into the turbocharger will make the turbo spool faster and keep the turbo spooled better between shifts. Applying a thermal barrier like an exhaust manifold coating does an exceptional job at doing this.

EP Racing does a two part coating process to all its exhaust manifold coating jobs. A high ceramic base coat which has exceptional thermal retention properties then a second layer which improves temperature retention to above 2000 degrees F. This combo makes for the best possible solution to aiding in heat retention.

Key things that the coatings do besides retain heat are:

- Great resistance to corrosion. The manifold will last longer with eliminating rust and other corrosion to occur.
- Reduce surface temperature of the manifold. This will equate to reduced under the hood/engine compartment temperatures as well. Reducing this heat will reduce heat in other components like A/C compressors, alternators, power steering pumps, etc etc.
- These coatings that are applied have better flexing/expanding properties than other coatings on the market.
- Black in color
- Cosmetically appealing

This service can be done to any form of cast/steel exhaust product. Downpipes/turbine housings/manifolds/wastegate tubes, etc etc.

***NOTE*** - Every manifold set that gets coated also gets drilled and tapped for EGT Probes. This is done FREE of charge!!!!!

Im digging deeper into the realm of what can be coated on engine assemblies and I'm continuously finding what areas of certain parts can benefit from a particular coating. Recently I've dove into smaller internal parts like valve springs, retainers, valves, lifters (solid) and other small sub assembly parts that could benefit from a coating regiment.

I now offer coating services for valve stems and wrist pins (full floating design). I've seen several engines after been torn down for inspection for both cores and customers engine sent in to be rebuilt, that there are severe galling issues and binding going on inside the engine. Obviously correct clearances make or break an engine and when you add coatings to the equation things are just that much better!

Coating after market wrist pins & Intake valve stems on your factory/aftermarket valves serves a few purposes.

1. Provides a better lubricated surface
2. Protects area of wear under greater stress/friction
3. Retains oil at the coated area ensuring the part never sees any added friction.
3. Keeps parts running cooler

All these small improvements with coatings can equate to an engine that will run better, smoother, and perform above and beyond what your assembly will run without coatings. Its a win/win situation for the engine to run coated parts. We all know that keeping friction down to a minimum is key and incorporating coatings aids in achieving that result.

Pricing for coating valves runs $100

Pricing for coating wrist pins - $100

Dry film lubricant on the valve stems to aid in lubrication and prevent galling. The valve stems feel like silk once cured and burnished.

Now offering a new coating service to update your forged/stock rods in having them coated. This service has two functions,

1. Oil shedding - this ensures that no parasitic drag/draw can be adhered to the rotating assembly (connecting rods) while in a dynamic state. Enabling the surface to be 100% resistant to oil saturation, this detail keeps the rotating assembly working easier.

2. Thermal barrier - this allows the heat in the connecting rod to be shielded from engine oil and carried away faster and better than if the item was not coated. Having the oil stick to the part and retain heat around it ultimately creates harder working parts due to the fact that oil is saturating the area and maintaining its heat to the part. The thermal dispersant helps in shedding this heat more rapidly and evenly.

This service to upgrade your connecting rods is $250 (this covers pin fitting the pin bore of the rod as well (this feature has not been done yet to the images above) for the set. All work is done in house by me personally. I guarantee my work to be 100%. If you have any questions please email me at my address above.

All coatings are applied by me personally in house. No out sourcing of any kind is done. Parts are guaranteed after coating to function as advertised. We all know that the oiling system is one of the weakest points to the VG30s survival. Inadequate
oil supply coupled with oil recovery issues leaves the avenue for oil starvation and
consumption with a very high rate of failure over time. To this one must focus their efforts
to support the oil system to the best of their ability.

I introduce to you EP Racing Ported Oil pumps. These oil pumps have all the restrictions removed for effortless
flow and faster recovery for the engines oiling system. All passages have been hand ported to
ensure tolerances are kept within standards. The “ins” & “outs” of the oil pumps have been
blended and radiused for faster flow rate and allows the oil to turn easier under pressure. One of the restrictions is the pump body itself so porting it lowers the system's back pressure slightly for a given rate of oil flow in (liters/minute say).

Parasitic load of the pump goes down a little which means the work load of the pump is reduced, making the pump work more efficiently changing the amount of effort required to pump that volume. All of the oil pumps have been rebuilt from original cores. They have been media blasted to
remove any and all contaminants to the outside casings. The internal side of things are
thoroughly cleaned to remove all residue and oil left behind. The entire assembly is ran
through my 3 cycle cleaning process to ensure all parts are accurately cleaned before assembly.
All clearances have been checked per factory specifications. Assembly is put together
using the highest grade assembly lubricant on the market. The rear cover plate is installed
and fastened using OE hardware with Loctite sealant to ensure sealing and that the hardware
maintains its function.

EP Racing Ported Oil Pumps come with a 90 day warranty. Are guaranteed to maintain your oil
pressure more efficiently and effectively. Improves recovery time/rate & maintains a better
approach to help aid the stock oiling system. These are a direct bolt on application. Great for
those doing an engine rebuild. Each pump is stamped with a serial number for verification of
completion.

How to order:

I take orders via phone/email. Acceptable payments are money order or Paypal.
This sale does require you to send in a core of the “like” kind, meaning if you
buy a TT oil pump you must send in a TT core oil pump. These cores MUST be
in working condition and have not had any failure prior to being removed from the engine.

You do not have to clean the unit before shipping. If one does not send in a core
a $35 core fee does apply. If you buy one of my ported oil pumps without sending
in the core first or with your payment you will be charged the core fee and when/if
you send in your core the fee will be refunded to you via paypal services.

Oil pumps run $125 + shipping (core charge applies).
