EP Racing Internal Coating Services are geared to add performance and protection to the vital engine components. These coatings enable the engine to run with less friction, better lubrication, better combustion, and exhaust flow attributes. One other big improvement is heat retention to keep down engine bay temps.

EP Racing Bearing Coating Services

This form of coating is a dry film lubricant that once applied is baked for 1 hour to chemically bond itself to the substrate.
This dry film lubricant with stands 350,000 psi of pressure. The more abuse (load) that is put on the coating the better its lubricating ability becomes. The coating after it has been applied and set requires NO extra clearances (oil clearances) when going to assembly. The coating wears to a 0 clearance which makes assembly easy. Dark gray in appearance, the coatings color wears off but leaving the physical properties embedded into the sub straight making this coating unlike many others.

- High pressure lubricant.
- Reduces friction, galling and scuffing. Increases part life.
- Requires no clearance changes to compensate for the coating.
- Apply to any part subject to sliding or rotating friction.
- Excellent for use on bearings.

Bearing coating service is $100. This covers both mains and rod bearings. An entire set is coated for this price. You must send me your bearings of choice as this price is only for the coating service.

I also have bearings on the shelf (Clevite & Federal Mogul) that are already coated (full sets) for $200 a set (main/rods). These are the only bearings I use in the engine builds I do. This is a great alternative for those that aren't sure on what bearings to buy or need a set of coated bearings at a moments notice.

EP Racing Piston Coating Service

There are two coatings to choose from with this service. You can opt to get the dry film lubricant which has the same protection as the coated bearings have or upgrade to the new ceramic coating that supports a little better on this type of rigid surface.

The ceramic coating is designed to be used, on any rigid or semi rigid surface experiencing sliding, rotating or oscillating friction, this meaning the piston skirts. It too is designed to carry loads in excess of 350,000 PSI as well as lubricate at temperatures in excess of 1600f. This ceramic coating combines the durability of a ceramic resin with the lubricity of the ceramic lubricant. This coating is also gray in color and acquires a glass like finish in use. This coating has a cured film thickness of ".001" or less and requires no added oil clearance.

Piston Skirt Coating Specs:

* PROTECTIVE TO ABOVE 1600F

Maintains adhesion at base metal temperatures in excess of 1600f.

* HIGHLY RESISTANT TO THERMAL SHOCK

Survives cyclic heating and cooling.

* DURABLE SEMI-RIDGID

Creates a hard, semi rigid, ceramic like finish that survives impact, as well as expansion and contraction without separating from the base metal.

Lubricating pigments are capable of carrying loads in excess of 350,000 PSI.

Resistant to most chemicals and acids while inhibiting oxidation.

The pistons tops (dish) is also coated with a new ceramic after being media blasted to open the substrate surface pores, this makes all the difference and unlike other piston top coating. This coating is baked to ensure the chemical is bonded becoming the sub straight. Many other coatings on the market simply apply the coating and let air cure. This coating once baked is light gray/white in color. Improvements obtained using this coating are listed below.

EP Racing Camshaft Coating Service

This coating is a ceramic coating, designed to be used, on any rigid or semi rigid surface experiencing sliding, rotating or oscillating friction. It is designed to carry loads in excess of 350,000 PSI as well as lubricate at temperatures in excess of 1600°F. A unique water based ceramic resin and lubricating solids including, a ceramic lubricating frit. This coating combines the durability of a ceramic resin with the lubricity of the ceramic lubricant. Works well in light duty applications as well as in applications where high temperatures, high loads and high speeds are experienced. When higher temperatures, than most other types of coatings can provide protection at, are experienced, is gray in color and acquires a glass like finish in use. provides a cured film thickness of ".001" or less. Water based material that contains no hazardous solvents.

This service uses the same ceramic resin coating that is used on the piston tops. Coating the chambers and piston tops creates the best efficiency in the combustion cycle as well as keeps the heat throughout the exhaust cycle ensuring you use every bit of heat/exhaust gas to your advantage. This service also coats the valves for free! Get your combustion chambers and valves coated for one low price. This coating once baked is light gray/white in color just like the piston tops. This service requires you to send me your cylinder heads thoroughly cleaned. If cleaning is required additional fees are implied.

EP Racing Exhaust Port Coating Service

This coating is used to isolate heat in the exhaust port and not allow it to radiate into the cylinder head. This improvement keeps your exhaust gas velocity up and your turbo system spooling faster and more efficiently. Black in color with a glass finish, this coating will NEVER come off. When you are ready to clean your exhaust ports out after tearing them down or just want to clean the carbon out for the sake of cleaning, all that is required is to wet a paper towel with any degrease agent and wipe clean. THATS IT!! This chemical coating has an ever lasting bond to the sub straight after its been applied and baked in the oven.
