Do you want to know where your car is at ALL times? I just installed one of these on my Z and it has given me tremendous peace of mind... especially because I work in an inner city neighborhood and park about 1/4 mile from my office. I've always wanted one of these things, but never did it because the monthly fees were too high... until now. This device is great... here are some of the highlights: 1) Geofence: push a hidden button and it sets a radius around your current location. If your car ventures beyond this location, notifies you (phone call, text message, alphanumeric pager, e-mail, or all of the above). When I had to recently drop my Z off for some bodywork, I could know for sure that it was not being taken for joyrides! 2) E-fence: mark off a location on a map for a permanent "geofence" function that you don't have to push a button for everytime. 3) Alerts you if: battery disconnected, alarm goes off, low battery voltage, speeding over user defined mph, motion with the ignition off (i.e. getting towed), crosses U.S. borders 4) Can track in real-time 5) Can poll the unit (communicate with the unit) for: location/speed/heading by phone or internet 6) Remotely: disable starter, unlock door, trigger an extra output (can hook this up to trigger any 12 v accessory, like a light) 7) Battery backup: for unit, so if your battery is disconnected, it will still function for a couple of days. 8) Utilizes high sensitivity GPS antenna: works through a dashboard, and it's a really compact unit, so you can hide everything. 9) Most inexpensive monthly fee: only $7 per month for 6 polls. To read more about it, you can go here: [ www.alltrackusa.com ] So far, I've been using mine for about 6 months and it's been great. I haven't been able to hook up the starter disconnect yet, or the door unlock feature... but, the Geofence, alarm notification, battery disconnect, and low voltage battery alerts have worked flawlessly. I especially like the low voltage alert... it's allowed me to charge up the battery before it goes completely dead. The phone interface is a bit cumbersome, but internet access is top notch. Price breakdown is as follows if people are interested: List price: $389 $311 (20% off) 7-16 units $303 (22% off) 17-24 units $291.75 (25% off) 25+ units Monthly fee is as follows:
6 Polls for $7.00 / .75¢ per poll after 6 40 Polls for $12.50 / .35¢ per poll after 40 100 Polls for $17.00 / .35¢ per poll after 100 250 Polls for $27.00 / .35¢ per poll after 250 500 Polls for $35.00 / .25¢ per poll after 500 1000 Polls for $47.50 / .25¢ per poll after 1000 2500 Polls for $70.50 / .25¢ per poll after 2500 5000 Polls for $92.50 / .25¢ per poll after 5000 A poll is anytime you ask the unit to do something... Ask its location: 1 poll Remote starter disable: 1 poll Turn on/off geofence: 1 poll (you can also turn on/off the geofence with the button which doesn't cost any polls) Trigger accessory output: 1 poll Ask today's fastest speed: 1 poll So basically, each month you purchase a set number of polls and each action you do draws from that set. If you go over, you get charged per poll. It does not cost any polls to send the alerts out. You can send as many alerts out for each action that you want (so if you ask the location and have it send that info to your cell phone AND your pager AND your e-mail it only costs 1 poll). Comparable units often do not have as many features and have higher monthly fees. Group buy will be done directly with AlltrackUSA. I gain nothing from this except the ability to pay group buy prices for more personal units. I will be buying 2 more for my other car and my wife's car, and I already have 2 other guys signed up... so we only need 3 more people on board for the first level of discount.
