So I'm a poor college student that got himself into a project that's a little too expensive to see through so I need to sell it to someone that has the time and expertise to do what I couldn't. I've had the car for a year and two months now with only a few problems so far. The main problems were injectors and a valve cover leak, both of which have been fixed. The main reasons one would call this a project is because of cosmetics, but the motor isn't completely perfect. Through the year I drove the car it was down once for about a month and during this time I replaced the injectors. A shop spliced in new injector connectors and coil pack connectors. I replaced the driveshaft with a one piece from specialty Z because of the dreaded carrier bearing. I've also replaced my fair share of vacuum hoses. As it sits right now the only things wrong with it are exhaust leaks, an oil leak that leaks at about a half quart a month, and a lifter tick. The lifter tick is good about going away once the car is warmed up though. The motor had boost jets installed without an ecu, and for that reason I've only boosted the car fully about four times throughout the entire year I’ve owned it, every other time I controlled the throttle and made sure not to lean out the motor, and even that I only did a few times. This car was my daily driver and I am and always have been a very conservative driver. I was also planning on fixing it myself so I was waiting to get on it until I was absolutely positive it would be alright. It also has a cat back exhaust and cone air intake. The cosmetic problems are a few small dents on the driver’s side door that are impossible to spot without really looking for them. And a few paint chips here and there. It looks as though the previous owner attempted to repaint the car and did an ok job. There is a spot on the spoiler about 5in x 3in where the paint had chipped off. I did my best to cover this area with touch up paint and did a pretty good job but it's still noticeable upon inspection. The previous owner also cut a small hole in each door for tweeters I assume but whatever they were for they're gone and the holes are all that's left. The seats also need replaced but I have tenzo r racing seats to put in that I never got around to getting a bracket for. The gauge cluster is a little messed up. There were white faced gauges installed when I bought the car but they made the needles stick so I took them out. In the process, the fuel gauge became misaligned. It’s still an accurate representation; it just doesn’t match up with the lines on the gauge. When the tank is full, the line is about two centimeters above the full line, and when the tank is near empty, the needle is at about the ¼ tank mark. Also, when I bought the car the temp gauge was broken, probably from when the white faced gauges were put in the first time. I replaced the sensor and the sender, but the gauge is the actual problem. The gauge reads above hot. I am 100% positive however, that the car is not overheating, as I directly measure the temperature of the coolant periodically to make sure it’s within operating temp. Also, like I said before, I am a very conservative driver and never really got on the car because I didn’t want to cause any damage to the engine because I was planning on fixing it myself when I could, so I never worried about the temperature under extreme driving conditions, because those conditions were never met. That’s not saying that the car couldn’t hold up if driven hard, it’s just that I didn’t want to take the chance because it was my DD. The odometer shows about 153xxx but the previous owner said that the motor had been replaced but I doubt it actually was. Either way the car pulls very strong and is in pretty good condition. I've always checked the oil per the oil leak and kept up on regular maintenance. The sale also comes with a spare shortblock, heads, and pistons. All of these look to be in good condition. They would be ideal for a high horsepower platform if you wanted to build them. Pic I'm asking $4800 obo. The car is at my parent's house in Columbus, IN but I'm in Bloomington at I.U. so if you have any questions call me at (812)375-4604 or email me at davidsta@indiana.edu or tt300z@gmail.com. If you want to set up a test drive you can call my parents at (812)372-6482. My dad is very knowledgeable and will be able to set up a test drive but if you have any specific questions call or email me. Thanks for looking!
