How can I remote mount my Blitz turbo timer or other electronics?
Some electronic components can be taken apart to better facilitate installation. I took my Blitz turbo timer apart one day and noticed the front display/buttons/and plastic face were easily removable and connected by a ribbon cable. There are two holes on either side of the plastic face which were perfect to thread a small nails through, they held the circuit board in to the face plate very nicely.
I then searched and found a place that had an 18" version of the same 20 pin ribbon cable, original one is about 1".
Here is the timer with the 18" cable installed.
I put the rest of the timer are behind center console below the vents resting above the stereo head unit. I put a few pieces of carpet around it held on with some duck tape to keep it from moving or rattling. Then I just ran the ribbon cable wherever I wanted the display. This is where I installed it but it could be placed almost anywhere.
